Watercolour on silk of maiden dismounting her horse
Our ref 371 An attractive watercolour depicting a warlike maiden armed with a sword and a quiver of arrows dismounting from her horse, the bridle of which is held by a man, apparently a soldier, indicating her to be a woman of some status. 20th century. Pasted down and framed. Label to back from The Campden Gallery, 141 Kensington Church Street, London W8, bearing signature (unreadable) with date ‘1949’ and the later date of ‘Oct 1954’, presumably the date of sale from The Campden Gallery.
